SvMet Engineering has successfully completed the implementation of its superheat control software CASTEV 1.1 in the 100-Ton EAF plant of Hyundai Steel in Pohang, South Korea. The plant produces high strength structural products, high carbon rail steels, and basic commercial steels. Operation with CASTEV has achieved 97% compliance and higher with superheat specifications of Hyundai Steel.  In the route to green steel, Hyundai Steel has achieved lower energy consumption at the LF with the use of CASTEV. The implementation took a record 3 months. Operators training played a key role to the success. SvMet has continued to work with Hyundai Steel refining the software tool and adapting to new needs from the steel plant.
